THE FIREBRINGERS!
Speaker: Max Adams
Lit & Phil
Westgate Road

7 p.m.
Thursday 11th June.

The early 19th Century was a time of scientific discovery, revolutionary invention and artistic innovation. The north east of England was in the vanguard of these breakthroughs.  Max Adams has brought to light the role of John Martin, a largely forgotten pioneer, born in a poor farming cottage at Haydon Bridge,  whom, he calls 'a child of the revolution.'
